Financial health check-up

To understand the connection between wealth and wellbeing, arecent survey1 asked people how theythink and feel about their financial health. Three quarters of respondents(75%) were of the opinion that financialhealth meant ‘having little or no debtand being prepared for unexpectedevents’. For many respondents (45%), money is a major cause of stress; this figure increases to 66% for those who had no savings or investments to fallback on. A common reason for notinvesting among younger respondents, was ‘lack of knowledge’ with 49% ofmillennials agreeing with this,compared to 35% of baby boomers.

An overwhelming majority (75%) ofthose survey respondents who use afinancial adviser, reported having apositive sense of wellbeing.
